Wahsega 4-H Center: Historical Information: News Archive

Wahsega welcomes new program coordinator

Georgia 4-H and Wahsega 4-H Center are pleased to welcome Ed Barnes, our new Program Coordinator, to Wahsega. Ed will coordinate all aspects of the Georgia 4-H Environmental Education Program at Wahsega 4-H Center including hiring and supervising the seasonal Environmental Education Instructors. The Program Coordinator's job also includes helping the many weekend conference groups plan their stay at Wahsega.

Ed, originally from Gwinnett county, has several years experience as a summer camp counselor and full-time administrator for outdoor education facilities like Wahsega. He has a Bachelor of Science in Education from Georgia State College and a Master of Arts in Religious Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas.

The Program Coordinator's position was vacated last November by Paul Coote who accepted the manager's position at Tybee Island 4-H Center. We look forward to Ed taking over the customer service and scheduling needs for weekend groups and school groups attending Environmental Education field studies. Let us know if you would like to make reservations for your group at Wahsega.
